Well it’s that time of year again. We’re all seeing lots of blog posts and various lists being circulated via social that try to capsulize all the critical events of 2016 in a nutshell. We know each one of us has had their share of highs and lows in 2016. So join us on Monday December 19, 2016 at 9pm Eastern for the last #SocialChat of 2016 as we discuss what everyone thought are about the emerging trends, what we were sad to see go and what we’re looking forward to in 2017.
I know this next piece of news is going to be a major 2016 low for many of you out there. Unfortunately, after nearly 6 years and 280 episodes #SocialChat is packing it in and freeing up your Monday nights after this last chat of 2016. We’ve tried various tactics throughout 2016 to bring back the audience we once enjoyed every Monday night but to no avail. With declining participation week after week, even when we had outstanding topics and guests (like last week topic of AMp with Barry Schwartz from RustyBrick) lead us to the conclusion that it’s time to #SocialChat to be put to bed for the very last time. We’ve noted the popularity of TwitterChats is in a steady demise and appears in the near future to be part of the history of Social Media.
We want to give a special shutout to 2 people we met along road who became close friends and a critical part of the #SocialChat family as we tried to breath new life into our TwitterChat. A special thank you to Andreea Cojocariu and Kevin Mullett for all their extra help.
Don’t fret, this isn’t the last you’ve heard of Michelle and Alan. They’re working on some ideas and who knows what they’ll be up to in 2017. In the mean time, you can find them doing what they do best helping clients get the most out of social, search and analytics at K’nechtology. Inc.
